Adhesive
Picasso must be placed into all adhesives whilst still wet. Under normal conditions the use of an acrylic adhesive is recommended. In areas subject to excessive heat, such as conservatories and areas subject to direct sunlight, a High Temperature Adhesive is recommended and in areas subject to excessive moisture, such as bathrooms, an Epoxy Adhesive is recommended. Pressure Sensitive Adhesive is recommended for larger installations.
Installation
Should be installed in accordance with BS8203; 1987 (UK), RFCI IS-2 (USA) except on all chipboard which should first be overlaid with 6mm plywood. Material should be acclimatised at 18-26°C for 24 hours prior to laying and maintained at 18-26°C for 24 hours after installation. Subfloors must be smooth, hard, clean and dry as recommended in BS8203 before laying. Uneven, solid or suspended timber subfloors may need preparation to meet the required standard. A DPM must be incorporated in direct to earth concrete subfloors. Products must be laid with the appropriate adhesive as listed above. |
It is essential to ensure good overall contact between the floorcovering and adhesive. We recommend that the floorcovering is rolled after installation and that all tiles and planks are free from general traffic for 24 hours after installation.
Maintenance
Correct maintenance procedures will help preserve the appearance and durability of the floor, the use of an emulsion polish is recommended. Barrier matting at entrance areas is also recommended, avoiding rubber-backed mat which can cause discolouration.
